Thomas Jones, Age 20

Gunner, 259012, 126th Army Brigade, Royal Horse Artillery.

Yet again another Thomas Jones with scant details, He was the son of Mr & Mrs Jones of Little Dawley and was killed in action on the 1st September 1918 during the allies final advance, His body was never identified and his name appears on the Vis­ En-Artois Memorial panels 3 & 4.

Thomas was born on the 20 Mar 1898 at Burroughs Bank, Lightmoor, he was baptised on the 10 Apr 1898 at the Methodist Chapel Lightmoor, on the 1911 census the family had moved to 11 Rednal Fields, Little Dawley, his father was Mr Arthur Jones and his mother Leah, in 1911 he had two brothers, Joseph aged 13 and James 6 he also had five sisters Clara aged 10 Olive 8 Freda 5 Flossie 2 and Gwendoline 8 months.
